About EIIC Citizenship Classes


Since 1988, Emerald Isle Immigration Center (EIIC) has provided legal assistance and social services to immigrants.

EIIC was first awarded a USCIS grant in 2011. With FY 2015 funding, EIIC provides citizenship instruction and naturalization application services to clients from different parts of the world such as India, Bangladesh, Colombia, Dominica, Ecuador, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Nepal, Peru, El Salvador, and Trinidad and Tobago, etc.

Supported by funding through the 2015 USCIS Citizenship and Integration Grant Program, EIIC offers a comprehensive education program that helps U.S. Citizenship applicants successfully pass their citizenship test.

Class Objectives

Understand the naturalization process

Learn about the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizens

Learn about the United States government and the history of the United States

Become more proficient in intermediate conversational English

Acquire listening and word-recognition skills

Acquire relevant vocabulary and learn helpful sentences

Have the opportunity to practice written and spoken English
